What is GS1 Sunrise 2027?
A global retail initiative aiming for checkouts to read GS1-standard 2D barcodes, including QR codes, alongside existing 1D barcodes by the end of 2027.
2027 is a readiness target. It is not a universal deadline to remove EAN/UPC barcodes. Both formats can coexist during the transition.

- More than a product number. EAN/UPC identifies the product; 2D barcodes can also encode batch, expiry and serial data.
- One code, more uses. A GS1 Digital Link QR code can serve compatible checkouts and open product information on a smartphone.
- Smarter stock and safer sales. With the right data and connected retail systems, 2D codes support inventory control and blocking expired or recalled items.
- Less packaging clutter. Multipurpose codes can reduce the need for separate checkout and consumer codes as retailers become ready.

What can I do with the Free plan?
Prepare up to 5 products, download GS1 QR codes, organize product groups and structured content, edit pages, preview them on mobile, and prepare DPP drafts. Free includes 10 shared AI demonstration attempts over the lifetime of the account. Upgrade to Basic or Premium to publish and activate public QR destinations.
Do we need our own website?
No. Prepare a product page directly in EUDREX using your GTIN and product information, then publish with Basic or Premium. If you already have a product webpage, redirect scans to it or combine it with selected support content through Website + EUDREX Hybrid panel.
What is GS1 Digital Link?
GS1 Digital Link expresses product identifiers, such as a GTIN, in a web address. EUDREX uses this approach to connect a product QR code to online information. You use your existing product identifiers; creating an EUDREX account does not issue a new GS1 GTIN.
How do the warranty features work?
Basic and Premium let you publish warranty and guarantee information on a product page. Premium also includes tools for managing commercial and extended warranties and purchase registrations. A shared product QR code opens product information; it does not by itself identify a particular purchaser or prove a physical item's authenticity.
What does DPP readiness include?
All plans include a workspace for preparing Digital Product Passport information and supporting documents. Premium adds DPP publishing and JSON, XML and PDF exports. EUDREX helps you prepare and manage information; it is not a certification of regulatory compliance.
What can I create with AI Content/Design?
AI design tools help you generate and refine header and background visuals for your product pages. Review the results, adjust your design and save your changes before publishing. You can also use your own content and images.
Do I need to reprint the QR code when content changes?
No, provided you keep the same Digital Link address and its resolver service active. Update the destination or published content in EUDREX while the printed QR code stays the same.
How are the paid plans billed?
Basic is billed at €468 per year and Premium at €1,068 per year, excluding VAT. The displayed €39 and €89 monthly prices are the monthly equivalents of these annual subscriptions. Cancel anytime and receive a refund for the unused portion of your prepaid subscription. Log in to choose your plan and review checkout details.
